BERGEN COUNTY PSYCHOTHERAPISTS
We Help You Find Solutions That Work For YOU
Our counselors walk you through the therapy process at your own pace so you feel comfortable and empowered.
We’re redefining traditional perceptions of psychotherapy
We get it. Counseling can be intimidating. It may even seem weird talking to a stranger about your deepest and darkest secrets. That’s why we’ve created a non-traditional, laid back space where you can feel comfortable and safe sharing your thoughts and feelings with a counselor that fits your needs and your personality. We take the time to get to know you and your concerns so we can identify the right therapist for YOU.
While many practitioners adhere to one, rigid therapeutic modality, at Redefining Counseling our counselors pull the very best techniques from the various styles of therapy to meet your unique needs and create a plan just for you! We may utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, internal family systems therapy, mindfulness, play therapy, and more. Your counselor will always use a person-centered lens to develop a real relationship with you, seeing your greatest strengths, even when you’re not able to. This relationship-based, individualized, multimodal approach helps you to achieve your therapy goals.

Our Counselors
We’re a group of therapists from all walks of life with vast clinical experience helping people just like you navigate life’s curve balls. Committed to tailoring each approach to the individual, we like to think outside the box for ways to connect with our clients, such as using play therapy with adults to access their inner child, or incorporating interventions like playing Dungeons and Dragons and shooting hoops with kids who shut down.
All therapists are trauma-informed and trained in play therapy. We also have a Spanish-speaking therapist on staff, a certified clinical mental health counselor, a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and two therapists who are also school counselors.
